Old Bar Public School is a large school with 21 mainstream classes and one support class catering for all students in a family focused seaside community. It has a whole school enrolment of 525 students, including 15% Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and a Multi-categorical class. The school prides itself on being inclusive.
All staff have high expectations for all students and are committed to providing teaching and learning programs across all key learning areas that promote students’ cognitive, emotional, social, physical and spiritual development. The school has a strong culture of collaboration in the planning, teaching and assessing of literacy and numeracy, including differentiated teaching instruction to support the needs of all students.
Student wellbeing is a priority for all staff. Old Bar Public School focuses on developing positive relationships across the school and engaging all members of the community.
