Food Revolution Day 2015

Food Revolution Day is fighting to put compulsory practical food education on the school curriculum. With diet-related diseases rising at an alarming rate, it has never been more important to educate children about food, where it comes from and how it affects their bodies.

Date May 15, 2015 - May 15, 2015
Time 6:00am - 6:00pm

Around the globe there are success stories to point to. We’re proud of our success in the UK.  The School Food Plan, published in 2013, laid a roadmap of actions for government to improve the state of school food across the country. As a result, food education and cooking became compulsory on the curriculum in September 2014 for children ages 5-14.

Food education has been part of the curriculum in Japan since the Basic Law on Shokuiku was introduced in 2005, and Finland has a long history of home economics that includes food preparation and nutrition education.
