Level 3, $114,626 - $125,810 per annum (SEA GA 2014)

Hedland Senior High School (SHS) is seeking a highly motivated, dynamic and aspirational Head of Learning Area (HOLA) – Mathematics. The successful applicant will need to have the necessary skills and ability to provide direction and purpose to young staff, some of whom are working outside of their area of expertise. You will ideally have effective communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team. In this role you will be involved in curriculum development in both lower and senior school, staff development and implementation of Western Australian Curriculum. The ideal candidate will be an individual who has high expectations for all students, ideally be able to demonstrate successful strategies that improve student outcomes and understands the importance of an evidence-based approach to teaching and learning to maximising student outcomes.
We are seeking someone with demonstrated high level of content knowledge of Mathematics. The successful candidate will require outstanding knowledge and application of mathematical concepts required to successfully teach Specialist Mathematics and Physics at or beyond Year 11 & 12 ATAR standard. A tertiary qualification in Mathematics is highly desirable.
We are ideally seeking someone with demonstrated high level of content knowledge of Mathematics. The successful candidate will require high level knowledge and application of science concepts required to successfully teach Specialist Mathematics and Physics at or beyond Year 12 ATAR standard.
