    Consultant – Literacy (K-6)

    The Team

    The Teaching & Learning Team strives to improve educational outcomes for all students by supporting teachers and Principals to develop a whole school commitment to inclusive practices, pedagogy and a shared responsibility for student achievement. The Team plays an important part in the effective development of educational resources and professional development for teachers and leaders in both primary and secondary schools. We provide many opportunities for personal development and professional growth in leadership skills and capacity.

    The Role

    Key responsibilities for this role include:

    •  Lead and support school and system initiatives

    •  Maintain effective partnerships with other education systems, institutions and organisations

    •  Support Principals in their instructional leadership roles in developing school-based literacy expertise and leadership

    •  Plan, coordinate and facilitate ongoing professional learning to develop school level literacy leaders

    •  Maintain knowledge, understanding and practical application of current research, policies and pedagogical developments in literacy education and the digital transformation of learning.

    Your Background

    •  Have teaching qualifications and demonstrate exemplary literacy teaching practices in a primary school setting.

    •  Demonstrate well-developed knowledge of literacy teaching and learning and current educational issues

    •  Have a high level of organisational skills, developed verbal and written communication skills and the capability to work cooperatively as part of a team

    •  Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with personnel in schools and other learning organisations.
