    This temporary vacancy is open to Expressions of Interest and accordingly any appointment (and extension to this appointment) will not extend beyond 12 months.

    Your opportunity:

    As the Head of the Open Learning Campus you will play a vital role in delivering the vision of the department to re-engage young children currently disengaged from education and training. The leadership role of the Head of Campus is critical to improving the social, emotional and educational outcomes of students enrolled in campus programs. The Head of Campus has a major influence on developing the quality of teaching and learning and nurturing positive relationships between students, teachers and stakeholders.

    As the Head of Campus you will be required to:

    • Lead the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision, focussed on providing quality learning outcomes with an emphasis on student social and emotional wellbeing:
    • Set high standards for student and staff performance 
    • Actively participate and lead ongoing professional development 
    • Form, lead and participate in partnerships with parents, in school student support services, other government agencies, external agencies and community groups 
    • Be futures oriented and strategic 
    • Understand the legislation and policies that impact on schooling especially in relation to students and staff 
    • Manage the human, financial and facilities required to achieve goals

    About the role:

    Within the context of the role described above, the ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities:

    • Demonstrated leadership of a curriculum, teaching and learning environment, leading to the achievement of quality learning outcomes for all students.
    • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and the capacity to develop and sustain productive relationships within and beyond the school community.
    • Capacity to use strategic thinking and analytical skills to influence the educational agenda for state schooling.
    • Capacity to manage effectively human, financial and physical resources to deliver high quality organisational outcomes.
    • Capacity to develop and maintain an organisational culture based on ethical professional and personal behaviours and corporate values.
