Excursion / Last updated 3 months, 4 weeks ago

Point Nepean is a popular place for school excursions. It offers unique learning experiences across a range of subject areas such as geography, science, park management, marine ecology and Australian history. Students can explore the Quarantine Station and consider what life would have been like for those arriving here, or discover Point Nepean's military past via a series of military fortifications dating back to the 1880s. Use our audio stories to guide your excursion.

Point Nepean is truly one of Victoria's beautiful natural landscapes. A special place with so much to see and discover.

It has a rich history and played an important role in shaping the early settlement, quarantine and defence of Victoria.

The park is located at the very tip of the Mornington Peninsula, with outstanding coastal scenery and panoramic views of Bass Strait, the Rip and Port Phillip Bay.

Schools are welcome to explore the park as an outdoor classroom, utilising our audio app, interpretive signage and soundscape and informative brochures to support half or full day excursions.
