Teachers Leading Educational Reform

The session is designed for school leaders and teacher leaders. In this interactive workshop, participants will be introduced to a model of collaborative professional learning that is currently being used in different parts of the world, including Australia. This workshop addresses Standard 6 in the 'Australian Professional Standards' for teachers in so far that it focuses explicitly on engaging teachers in professional learning that is collaborative and impactful. 

The session will also address the Australian Professional Standard for Principals particularly the professional practices of "Developing self and others" and "Leading Teaching and Learning."

The workshop will introduce participants to practical ways of engaging colleagues in collaborative professional learning and it will provide participants with the opportunity to examine how professional collaboration can be used most effectively to improve learning and teaching.

The one-day program will focus on:

  1. Identification and development of collaborative skills;
  2. The barriers to collaborative learning and how to overcome them;
  3. Using research and enquiry to inform collaborative learning;
  4. Leading collaborative professional learning with impact.
