The third workshop in the series will explore the Target Game category. A thematic approach for Physical Education is consistent with aspects of the AC: HPE Achievement Standards and the key ideas of a strengths based, educative focussed Physical Education curriculum promoting education in, through and about movement.
This workshop will address the concepts of: Principles of play; movement concepts, designing games for purpose; transfer of understanding; deliberate practice and deliberate play for target games; and the use of questioning as the educative architecture that could be used to construct a thematic curriculum for primary or secondary PE.
Experienced coaches from Bowls SA, Croquet SA and Golf SA, and teachers will present provide practical sessions on how they approach teaching Target Games.
