    About this job

The Western Cape College is a response to Education Queensland's commitment to improve educational outcomes for all students. The Western Cape College officially opened on January 1, 2002. This P-12 educational facility aligns the campuses of  Mapoon and Weipa. In 2012, Western Cape College, in partnership with the Indigenous Land Corporation, opened a 120 bed residential facility located in Weipa.

WCC is a state schooling facility that caters for young people aged 4 to 18, and we are focused on being a high quality schooling option of choice for students from the Western Cape communities of Napranum, Weipa, and Mapoon. Uniquely, we also cater for students who enrol with us via our Residential Campus who come from a range of Indigenous communities across Cape York and the Torres Strait. WCC's relatively remote location is not seen by us as a disadvantage, rather our unique setting is as a positive challenge that we embrace and celebrate.

Within an increasingly positive workplace culture, WCC strives to deliver a consistent, high quality schooling experience for all of our students.

    We strongly believe that:

A positive workplace allows for every child to access quality schooling in a safe, inclusive, disciplined and supportive learning environment.
