Creekside curriculum

MELBOURNE - Staff from Creekside College were involved in a curriculum day at the beginning of Term 3. New Pedagogies for Deep Learning was presented to staff, followed by year level planning sessions. According to the school newsletter, these opportunities ensure the curriculum is consistent across classes, meets the requirements of AusVels and engages students.

Dr Tim Bell unplugged

HOBART – Teachers from St James Catholic College in Tasmania had plenty of praise for a workshop they attended  focussing on Digital Technologies in the new Australian Curriculum. A highlight was Dr Tim Bell co-author of Computer Science Unplugged, according to the school newsletter Bell’s unplugged approach to teaching the curriculum was refreshing and stimulating.

Collaborative approach

NOWRA - Collaboration was the name of the game for Sussex Inlet Public School teachers early this Term. Staff participated in professional learning and collaborative planning related to the implementation of a new Mathematics Syllabus in 2015 and an introduction to a new Science curriculum, which will be phased in over the next two years.
