Baptist Camping Victoria is well-known for its very successful Camp Wilkin and Burnside Camps in Anglesea.
In addition to this, we have added the Halls Gap Baptist Centre to be able to provide an alternative location at the base of the beautiful Grampian Ranges and an alternative style of camp.
Camp Wilkin offers accommodation for up to 161 students and teachers in beautiful seaside Anglesea, with plenty of space for meeting rooms and break-out rooms. Our site has a range of activities including archery, low ropes, flying fox, initiatives, high ropes, climbing wall, tennis courts, bonfires and more; each with highly trained staff to facilitate sessions.
Within walking distance from the beach and river, this site is ideal for mountain biking, canoeing and surfing. Our experienced chef will even ensure meal time is an enjoyable experience.
Burnside Camp is a slightly smaller, more intimate camp in Anglesea that can accommodate up to 88 campers. Designed to provide team building and character strengthening activities such as a high ropes course, zip line and cargo net, it is also ideally situated for nature-based activities being close to the beach and surrounded by bushland. Burnside Camp can offer both a fully catered or self-catered option.
Halls Gap Baptist Centre, located in Halls Gap, provides accommodation for up to 56 campers.
The location at the gateway of the Grampians means that campers are able to hike directly out from camp into the beautiful mountain ranges.
It’s set up for an independent experience with a fully equipped kitchen and paved BBQ area. Local providers are able to organise activities such as mountain biking, abseiling, rock climbing, and canoeing. Halls Gap Baptist Centre is a perfect location to recharge, study and reflect – and is great for Year 11 or 12 study camps, sports training camps, or student adventure camps. It's a unique experience – camping that satisfies!
BEYOND CAMPING
The Enhancing Student Potential program is available for local schools and is run both at the school and at Camp Wilkin over several weeks. It is geared to help students in life skills, confidence, self esteem and team awareness and to assist in the retention of students.
The ropes course is available for day use and is an excellent opportunity to explore issues of trust, responsibility, teamwork and concentration, as well as allow individuals to have fun and build confidence.
The one-to-two year long 12 Watts internship program is available at Camp Wilkin for students who have finished Year 12. Interns experience life in the outdoor adventure environment, living and eating at camp. Students complete a Certificate IV in Sport and Recreation in addition to subjects towards a Diploma of Theology.
