Moran Arts Foundation - Free School Photographic Workshop

Incursion / Last updated 4 years, 8 months ago

As part of its patronage of the arts, the Moran Arts Foundation provides free photographic workshops to schools around Australia. Established in 2008, the Moran School Photographic Workshop Program is an ideal way to foster creativity amongst school students in years 3 to 12. The workshops aim to introduce children to a new way of seeing via the art of photography, encouraging individual and collaborative creativity, building self confidence and time stamping a wonderful school experience in their minds. The workshops are run in a fun and creative way, providing an opportunity to develop important social skills within the familiar school environment.

Run by professional photographers, the full day workshops teach students fundamental photographic techniques combined with the theme of “Visual Storytelling”.

Each workshop has a maximum of 30 children per class. Each child has their own digital camera and camera card to use for the day. At the end of the day each student selects and prints 5 of their photographs and the workshop concludes with a discussion of their photographs. Workshops must be supervised by teachers and parent support is very welcome.
