Hobart Delivering Kitchen Garden Classes

This introductory one-day professional development workshop is useful for anyone just beginning their pleasurable food education journey, including staff in Early Learning, Primary and Secondary sectors. It is also beneficial for Kitchen Garden educators who have new or additional staff to train. It incorporates hands-on, skills-based instruction in the kitchen and garden learning spaces, giving attendees everything they need to confidently deliver pleasurable food education to their students.

You DO NOT need to be a Kitchen Garden Program School or Kitchen Garden Classroom member to attend this training, it is open to all educators.

The training covers all elements of the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation’s philosophy and delivery. It centres on the hands-on aspect of delivering kitchen and garden classes, but also includes sessions on integrating pleasurable food education, planning menus and creating garden activities, as well as planning classes and incorporating volunteers.   

Each training day is led by an experienced facilitator who will provide opportunities for you to ask questions and discuss your school’s individual circumstances. The day will also feature a delicious shared lunch based on Kitchen Garden Program recipes.
