About the role -
We are seeking a School Chaplain to join our welcoming school community.

As a member of this team, you will support the faith, spiritual and pastoral needs of students. This includes support and guidance about ethics, values, relationships and spiritual issues; the provision of student welfare; and enhancing engagement with the broader community.

  • Genuine desire to work in partnership with school staff, students and families in the provision and growth of the school’s Service Learning program


To be eligible to be considered for this role you will possess the following:

  • Certificate IV in Youth Work or Certificate IV in Pastoral Care or equivalent qualifications
    This certificate or equivalent must include a unit of competency in ‘Mental Health’ and ‘making appropriate referrals’ eg:  CHCCS422B (Respond holistically and refer appropriately) and CHCMH301C (Work effectively in mental health).
  • A service focused mindset will be evident in the successful candidate’s ability to articulate their experience in working to create an environment where, in partnership, they have worked to support teams in the achievement of organisational goals.  
  • Have formal or informal experience in working with young people in a Christian context (e.g. formal experience may involve paid work with a registered youth organisation whereas informal experience may involve volunteer work with a local Parish youth group)
  • hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement;
  • be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment; and
  • have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education.
