About this job

We are seeking a suitably qualified and passionate teacher to join our Languages team working across the School from Year 6 through to Senior years teaching the German language. You will be expected to maintain the highest standards of preparation for teaching and learning, student management, personal presentation and punctuality. Your collegial and collaborative nature will be evident in ensuring the best possible outcomes for our students. To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate an ability and willingness to:

  • Plan for and implement effective teaching and learning
  • Provide feedback and professional support to improve individual student learning outcomes
  • Contribute to the development of a strong learning community and culture
  • Contribute to Pastoral Care and Co-curricular programs of the School
  • Ability to teach English (EAL), EIF and AIF would be a definite advantage.

Key Selection Criteria: Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications, and an experienced teacher of the German language across Years 6 through to senior years
  • Current (or ability to attain) SA Teacher Registration  
  • Innovative and exemplary classroom practitioner with a proven record of student outcomes
  • High level of ICT skills, knowledge and effective incorporation into classroom practice
  • The capacity to cater for students with a range of abilities and learning styles within the classroom and to monitor, and respond to, student progress
  • The capability to work cooperatively with students, staff and parents to produce the best learning outcomes for students 
  • Accreditation as a Highly Accomplished or Lead Teacher (or working towards) will be viewed favourably
  • Support for the ethos of an independent, coeducational, Uniting Church school.
