PPTA is the professional body representing teachers in secondary, area and intermediate schools, technicraft centres, community education and itinerant music positions. For over 60 years PPTA members have worked in schools and nationally to ensure all young people in New Zealand have equitable access to good quality state education. PPTA is the voice of the post-primary teaching profession with over 17,000 members. We provides advice, guidance and advocacy for members about their conditions of employment.

Professional networks where members participate in decision-making and influence the debate on crucial education issues 

PPTA’s annual conference has ultimate authority within the association and is the forum where members debate and construct major policies
