Nominations Now Open for Sporting Star and Inspirational Teacher Awards
ACHPER QLD promotes active and healthy lifestyles in education communities across Queensland. ACHPER QLD’s annual Women in Sport Breakfast aims to celebrate female sporting achievements and inspire the next generation to get active.
ACHPER QLD invites schools to nominate female students to be recognised during the 2016 Women in Sport Breakfast. We would like to recognise students who have demonstrated outstanding:
• Sporting Performance: Athletes who have represented Queensland and/or Australia in school or club sport.
• Sporting Endeavour: Athletes who have overcome significant challenges to participate in school or club sport.
• Sporting Service: Students who have significantly contributed to school or club sport and/or the sporting pursuits of others (for example, coaching, officiating, administration, etc).
Multiple Sporting Star winners will be acknowledged during the breakfast across two groups: Shooting Star awards for senior students (15 years and over) and Rising Star awards for junior students (14 years and under). Finally, one Shining Star award will be presented to the most outstanding senior student in 2016*
Reasons for nomination should encompass June 2015 – September 2016 only. Achievements prior to these dates will not be considered. Nominees must also complete a brief “Student statement” to personally express their suitability for a 2016 Sports Star Award.
