This interactive conference is focussing on practical strategies for jazz and folk music, aimed at middle school and high school levels. Bring your instrument and join in!

Chris Martin - Jazz pianist and music teacher at Unley High School . Chris will explore typical rehearsal structure and elements, developing a rhythm section groove, repertoire selection and some typical charts, exercises to explore basic improvisation, and touch on more advanced concepts.

Doug Loudon - Music and Mathematics Teacher at Banksia Park International High School

Jeri Foreman - Schools Coordinator for the Adelaide Youth Orchestras, instrumental teacher and conductor in schools, and fiddle player. Doug and Jeri are members of Astro Cobalt, an SA Contemporary Bluegrass band. They presented ‘Folk Music – Bridging the Gap’ at the 2015 ASME National Conference.
