Westmead Feelings Program 1: Facilitator Certification Course + Resources. ACER accredited course

Westmead Feelings Program 1 has been developed by ACER and The Children's Hospital at Westmead, and encompasses a 15-month intervention program along with a professional learning course. The program enables facilitators to teach emotion recognition, perspective-taking, problem-solving and emotion regulation skills to children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and mild intellectual disability (ID).

The comprehensive Facilitator Certification Course consists of four units and two learning assurance tasks at the end of the course, and each participant receives a full WFP 1 resource kit. The training covers proficiency in 12 separate areas of WFP 1, through interactive tasks, activities and videos.

On successful completion of the course, participants will receive:

  • an accredited certificate, enabling participants to facilitate WFP 1 at the highest standard, with children, parents and teachers, in schools and private practice
  • a digital certification badge for use on online platforms such as websites and social media
  • the opportunity to be listed on ACER's online certified practitioners register.

Course mode: Four online units

Course duration: 20 hours over a maximum 10-week period

Single registration: $1500 per person

5–10 registrations from one institution: $1275 per person

10+ registrations from one institution: $1200 per person
