About the School

Flagstone State Community College is a collegial and collaborative learning community forging pathways for student success.  Flagstone State Community College is a growing school community that prides itself of fostering diverse learning opportunities in a positive and inclusive community of learners that allow our students to thrive. 

Our college is located in the priority growth area of Flagstone in Logan West, just five kilometres from Jimboomba. The Greater Flagstone Priority Development Area, is designated by the Queensland Government, to supply of housing and infrastructure in one of South-East Queensland's fastest growing corridors. 

About the Role

Our college is developing a strong Sports Development Program with specialisation in Netball, Basketball, Rugby League and Oztag. This is complemented by a thriving Creative Arts program, and pioneering Entrepreneurial Education approach to Technologies and STEM. Staff are supported through a comprehensive approach to collegial engagement with school leaders engaging in daily Learning Walks and Talks and fortnightly school funded Collaborative Inquiry Cycles. As a Positive Behaviour for Learning School, the college has the setting of high expectations supported through clear and consistent learning routines as a school focus.

You will have responsibility for leading the following activities and delivery of the following key tasks:

  • Lead the school department to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
  • Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
  • Set high standards for student and staff performance.
  • Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
  • Form partnerships with students, parents, other government agencies, and community groups.
  • Be futures oriented and strategic.
  • Understand the legislation and policies that impact on schooling especially in relation to students and staff within the school department.
  • Manage the human, financial, facilities and curriculum resources of the school department to achieve goals.
