About the Role

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate and manage the flow, preparation and development of Cabinet documents/requests, submissions, reports, briefing material and correspondence for the senior officers on significant portfolio issues.
  • Contribute to the coordination and development of departmental governance reports and external reporting requirements relating to departmental activities.
  • Contribute to the preparation and coordination of information required by the Minister for Parliament, including Briefings, Ministerial Statements, Estimate Briefs, Questions on Notice, Questions without Notice, and Possible Parliamentary Questions ensuring parliamentary timelines are adhered to.
  • Critically review and analyse correspondence, briefings, cabinet responses, parliamentary materials and submissions in order to ensure accuracy in content, alignment with relevant legislation and policies. and ensuring compliance with departmental visual and style guides, maintaining consistency with format, structure and protocols.
  • Prepare submissions, reports, briefing material and correspondence for senior officers on significant portfolio issues.
  • Analyse the content and requirements of correspondence, information and briefing/cabinet requests and determine where the correspondence should be actioned, undertaking investigation, research and analysis of sensitive and confidential matters.
  • Assist the Principal Advisor and Director in developing and implementing quality assurance processes governing the provision of a range of executive services function, including the management of executive correspondence and policy coordination issues.
