The Agriculture Teachers Association of South Australia represents Ag teachers from all sectors.

We believe it is essential for all students to have an understanding of where their food and fibre comes from and the innovative and ethical practices that are required for farm production.

We have over 45 schools teaching Agriculture in SA but, as many agriculture teachers are the only one in their faculty at their site, we have an important role to fill in providing professional and practical support.

We host a biennial state conference and our next one is in May 2017 on the Fleurieu Peninsula.

We use this opportunity to network, share ideas and resources and update our skills to industry, leading edge standards.

Each December we also host a Curriculum Focus Day at Urrbrae Agricultural High School.

We also provide financial support for mentor teachers to help beginning Agriculture teachers develop their skills and design rigorous assessment tasks.

We are affiliated with the National Association of Ag Educators (NAAE) and our web address is www.naae.
