BRISBANE, June 12 - Upper Coomera State College advised parents by text message at about 10.30am on Tuesday that it had gone into lockdown.

A Queensland Police spokeswoman said that detectives were working closely with the Department of Education.

She could not confirm the nature of the threat, and it is unknown if any teachers or students have been evacuated.

The incident comes around two weeks after bomb and shooting threats were made against a number of schools in the Gold Coast and Brisbane areas.

Three teenage boys were charged over the threats.
