According to Margo Metcalf, Creative Director for the International Exhibition & Conference Group (IEC Group) the company has seen a positive reaction to in-person events.

The IEC Group is a privately owned Australian company of key personnel with combined exhibition industry experience of over 60 years. As Industry Association specialists, they are experienced in organising exceptional trade exhibitions and conferences. The company is pleased to announce the return of The Education Show the exhibition component of the National Education Summit 2022, which is taking place at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre on Friday 17 and Saturday 18 June 2022.

According to Margo, the exhibition is a sell-out event which will see educators meet in person to attend a variety of conferences, seminars, and visit the free Education Show.

Over the last three years, the education sector has really shown its flexibility and resilience in dealing with  extraordinary circumstances. “We are pleased to showcase the best the industry has to offer in terms of new technology, creating inclusive learning environments and building capabilities in schools. Educators and the associated service providers have been busy reinventing materials and approaches to suit the new way in which students learn and absorb information” says Margo.

Classroom of the Future

“We are particularly excited about the introduction of the ‘The Classroom of the Future’” says Margo. It will include an “ACTIVE ZONE” which will have a poster wall and wish list to capture brainstorming ideas. Software giants Adobe, Amazon, Google and Microsoft will present their vision for Education for the next five years.

The team at the National Education Summit are working with educators, industry experts and Digital Learning and Teaching Victoria (DLTV) to develop, plan and conceptualise what The Classroom of the Future might look like. At the 2022 National Education Summit Melbourne we will present a “pop-up” showcase for educators to engage in the concept, share ideas, hear about new developments and be part of the brains trust to develop a Wish List of what classrooms might look like in 1 to 5 years from now.

According to Kevin Daly, CEO Digital Learning and Teaching Victoria, the classroom will showcase innovative and progressive ideas around what the students of today will need in their tomorrows. “We're not just talking gadgets and the latest in AI and robotics (although we will include some emerging tech). But what pedagogical practices will our students benefit from? What spaces will encourage our students to thrive? How will spaces be designed to create environments that are firstly environmentally friendly, and also physically stimulating as well as promoting physical and emotional wellness? Another consideration is how might global warming impacts such as floods and bushfires and pandemic events impact on our models of education. We would love to get feedback from the community on how they see the future.”
