Tintern Grammar is seeking to appoint a STEAM Teacher to work within the School. As a key member of our Information Services/IT team, working collaboratively to provide leadership and support to staff and students in developing STEAM skills in our Junior and Middle Schools and provide support for the delivery of the Australian Digital Technologies curriculum Prep-Year 10.

Tintern Grammar is a leading independent school in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs, and it has a history of over 144 years. Tintern is an ELC to Year 12 School with a parallel learning model thereby providing the best learning opportunities for students through a mix of single sex and coeducational classroom experiences. The school is set in a beautiful expansive environment of gardens, ovals, and impressive architecture.

Tintern Grammar is seeking to appoint a STEAM Teacher to work within the School. The successful applicant will report to the Director of Information & Technology Services and be an integral member of the Information Services/IT Department.

About the Role

As a key member of our Information Services/IT team, you will work collaboratively to provide leadership and support to staff and students in developing STEAM skills in our Junior and Middle Schools. You will also provide support for the delivery of the Australian Digital Technologies curriculum Prep-Year 10.

This is a part time, ongoing teaching role effective Term 4 2022, or a later start date to be negotiated.  Workdays: Tuesday-Thursday (preferable) but can be negotiated.

You will be able to demonstrate excellence in teaching, and experience in this area.  You will demonstrate:

You must have relevant qualifications:

  • VIT registration
  • Strong STEaM skills
  • Ability to encourage and motivate your students
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills

You will encourage students to take risks within a structured school environment, to make individual choices and to use new experiences as learning opportunities  

You will have a desire to work collaboratively with other staff and actively engage in the broader life of the School.
